Description
Poppies have always been present in my life - they are my Mum’s favourite. Red is everywhere in her house and one of my early prints was a poppy print, which I made for Mother’s Day.
After a trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park years ago, I came across the work of Peter Randall-page - an exploration of pods and seeds in sculpture and drawing. Since then, I’ve found seed pods fascinating.
In this print, I celebrate the pods on the cusp of bursting open - an exciting stage of their growth. There are poppies in most of the gardens near me at the moment and I love it.
