Description
The book is called "The Magic Inside of Me ‘Featuring Imogen and the Mind Monkeys" and is a beautiful rhyming story to help children understand those big emotions, how they effect them and how to deal with them. The story follows Imogen’s journey with her little mind monkeys as she finds the magic inside of her to deal with those pesky worrying feelings. As the book aimed at 3-7 year olds and is all about starting school and meeting new people, it is an ideal story to support children transitioning from early years into Key Stage 1.
About the illustrator - Georgia is 15 years old and has always had a passion for drawing, setting up her business making hand drawn cards at the age of 13. The business has grown and she is now creating her own stationery, book marks, postcards and designing commissions for other businesses, as well as starting her book illustrating career. She is currently sitting her GCSE exams at King Edwards High School in Morpeth and knows all about worries and anxiety and is passionate about supporting Holly's mission to help children find the magic inside of themselves to cope with their feelings.
About the author - Holly is a trained youth and community worker, mindfulness instructor and first-time author from Northumberland. She has worked with children and their families for over 18 years, with the last 13 years spent as a mentor in a secondary school gathering a wealth of practical experience in dealing with mental health. After seeing the rise in anxiety and worry amongst young people, Holly wanted to support more young people with their mental health and well-being and wrote this book to support the next generation of children.
